Description

René Caisse Authentic Sheep Sorrel Tea® Essiac Formula- 53g

Genuine Canadian Indian Herbal Tea

Rene Caisse Sheep Sorrel Tea is a gentle herbal tea in a loose powder form. The tea has many beneficial properties. It can:
  • stimulate the immune system
  • benefit the digestive system.
  • detoxify the body efficiently
  • improve or maintain general well being
  • reduce pain
  • promote sleep

Rene Caisse was a devoted Canadian nurse who treated thousands of people free of charge for over 50 years with an Indian herbal tea. The tea originated with the Ojibwa (Chippewa) Indians of the Lake Country in Canada. Rene dedicated her life to perfecting the formula of Essiac tea (Essiac is her last name Caisse spelled backwards), which is made up of four natural herbs.

A holy drink that would purify the body and place it back in balance with the Great Spirit.”
Ojibwa medicine man’s original description of the tea
(as passed on to Rene Caisse in 1922)

Alternative Health Supplies’ Rene Caisse Sheep Sorrell Tea is a combination of the exact same 4 herbs as Rene Caisse used in her formulation. Due to the varying quality of other products on the market and the high prices, we decided to source the correct ingredients locally, in Australia, and ensure that they are organic or wild-crafted. The mixture is non-toxic, as each of the herbs has been used individually as food and medicinally for centuries. The four ingredients are all René ever used and this formulation has been taken directly from a video about René Caisse, showing the ingredients that she used in her wonderful herbal infusion.

This tea has a history of being used as treatment for several ailments and diseases, including cancer. Whilst there are many impressive personal testimonies for this tea, there is no conclusive clinical data supporting its use in disease treatment. We emphasize that disease treatment is individual and recommend that you discuss it with a health care practitioner.

Warnings and interactions
Rene Caisse Sheep Sorrel Tea should be not be used for pregnant or lactating women.

Ingredients
Burdock Root, Sheep Sorrel., Slippery Elm, and Indian Rhubarb Root.

The herbs that make up the tea powder each have beneficial properties that will assist the body in strengthening the immune system as well as in cleansing and assisting various organs to function properly. No toxicity for internal or external use has been found in any of these four herbs. Rene Caisse infusion tea was very specific. (To give you an idea – there are over 70 types of Elm and 16 varieties of Rhubarb and many varieties of Sorrel). Some of the herbs are rare and expensive, which is why lesser quality varieties are often substituted. Our tea is
  • *Certified (B.F.A) ‘A’ Grade Organic
  • Free of pesticides, preservatives, lactose, gluten or fillers.
  • Export quality
  • Packaged to both ISO 9001 and AQIS International Standards (Certification No 116/94_)
  • Herbs backed by Herbal Analysis Certificates

*Certified depending on seasonal availability of certified herbs, ingredients are either fully certified or “wildcrafted” – grown without chemicals, but not yet certified.

Each 53g pack will yield 2.8 litres of tea once made up. It must be refrigerated and does not contain any other ingredients or stabilisers. It will not keep longer than approximately one week, once brewed.

Recommended Use for general health and well-being - Take 60 mls in the morning and at bedtime on an empty stomach (at least 1-2 hours before or after eating). It may be served either warm, room temperature or cooled. To obtain maximum well-being benefits from the tea, it is recommended to drink it regularly for a period of time and not intermittently.

Full brewing instructions are on each pack.

Why Powdered Tea?

We only sell the Rene Caisse Sheep Sorrel Powdered Tea because that is only how Rene used the tea when she treated patients orally. There are other products on the market that capsulize the herbs, or create tinctures without powdered forms of the herbs and use preservatives. We have chosen not to create products such as these, because Rene was very precise about the preparation.
